Okiefalcon Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Found a great deal on a weightless worm version and wonder if anyone had any experience with em' Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 31, 2010 Super User Posted July 31, 2010 I've never used them, but everybody likes them i've never heard anything bad about em. Quote
DpDvr Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I have a Falcon Cara, 7' MH. It's an older rod, so it doesn't have the micro guides. I use it for Senko's and texas rigged worms. It's a great rod. I don't think you would be disappointed. Quote
Super User Micro Posted August 2, 2010 Super User Posted August 2, 2010 Curious about the micro guides. How do they keep the line from rubbing the rod? Seems like with even a slight bend the line would come into contact with the blank. BTW, I've never fished a rod with mico guides. Just curious if this is an issue. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I haven't seen the layout on this specific rod, but in general when building with micro guides you need to use one or two more than usual to keep the line off the blank. Even with the extra guides you still save weight and at the tip where it's most important. casting distance and accuracy are also somewhat improved by micros by shooting the line in a straighter path (gun barrel analogy). Super User Raul Posted August 2, 2010 Super User Posted August 2, 2010 Man, Falcon makes some very good rods, so let 's suppose that the rod is the same Falcon Cara with micro guides , heck it 's the same good rod and that 's what it matters, micro guides, well it must have at least one more guide than the regular Cara or there would be line slap aganist the blank. Okiefalcon Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 Pulled the trigger on it. I have several low riders and a bucoo so I will let you guys know how I like the micro guides. Quote
