bugman Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I have used Berkley Trilene 100% floro and really like it. My question is there much difference between Trilene 100% Gamma floro, Stren 100% & BPS XPS floro? I have tried Vanish and did not like it. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted March 9, 2010 Super User Posted March 9, 2010 Yes, they all exhibit different characteristics (strength, stretch, abrasion resistance, shear resistance). I've tried Trilene 100%, Vanish, Stren 100%, XPS and Viscious. So far Trilene 100% and Stren 100% give me everything I want. Didn't mind Vanish. XPS was too shear prone (line splits). Viscious sucked. Quote
Primus Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I use Trilene 100% or Gamma on spinning reels, usually use the slightly stiffer BPS on casting reels because it's cheaper. Quote
bugman Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 I had a sales guy tell me that Trilene 100% & Stren 100% are the same line made by the same company. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 9, 2010 Super User Posted March 9, 2010 I have been experimenting with the Seaguar Inviz #8 on spinning tackle and the AbrazX #12 on baitcasting. gear. Give them a try, I think you will like both! 8-) Quote

Super User 5bass Posted March 9, 2010 Super User Posted March 9, 2010 I mainly use Trilene 100% on my casting rods but on anything 10# and under (my spinning stuff) I use Sunline Super Sniper fluorocarbon. I'd use it on my casting reels too but I cant afford it. It's expensive but its the best fluorocarbon you can buy in my opinion. Quote
bugman Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Just got back from Dicks Sporting Goods and they have 8# Stren Fluorocast 100% fluorocarbon in 200 yrd spool for $9.99. The lable looks different that the Stren 100% Fluorocarbon that I see advertised for $14.99. Is this the same line? And Stren has a rebate of $6.00 if you purchase two spools of any Stren line. Quote

BassCats Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I am looking for a flourocarbon with less memory than Vicious. I don't like the big companies, ie: berkley, stren, bps. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 21, 2010 Super User Posted July 21, 2010 There is two stren Fluorocarbons, the fluorocast is the equivalent of vanish; while %100 matches with Trilene %100 The lines are identical because theyre both made by Pure Fishing. Quote
baluga Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I like the Seaguar Inviz X. It's a lot better than Vanish imho. Quote
