OHIO Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I am thinking of getting this combo for fishing soft plasctics primarily. http://www.***.com/descpage-BLSC.html http://www.***.com/descpage-QCPTC.html I haven't had a baitcaster in a long time, so I don't know much about them. Opinions and suggestions on this set up would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Skunked in DR Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I won't recommend specific equipment but I would suggest that for fishing soft plastics you're going to want as sensitive a rod as you can afford. Quote
Boogey Man Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Check Cabale's website, you can get that reel for $90. I have one, it's a nice reel. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0064150123995a&navCount=1&podId=0064150&parentId=cat601360&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat21404-cat21406-cat601360_TGP&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601360&hasJS=true Quote

OHIO Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 Thanks man. You just saved me about 50 bucks. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 16, 2010 Super User Posted July 16, 2010 I Would say get the Falcon BuCoo in 6'6" MH/F paired with a PQ or a carbonlite in 6.4:1. They are probably the best rods in the $100 price range and are SOO SOO light and sensitive. Nice balance to them also! Also they are made right here at home in the USA 8-) Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Nice combo and I would go with the reel and either the Quantum Superlite PT or maybe one of the other rods Cabelas has on clearance. Quote
SJB1226 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I agree with the superlite rod idea I bought 3 of them for guest to use while on my boat... and 2 for my nephew when they was at 109.99 and paid with my Cabelas club Visa and with the C/C Visa it marked them down to 69.99 in cart... now that they are even cheaped if you pay with your Cabelas club visa it may mark them down even more... im gonna try and if it does im buying everyone they got and reselling on Ebay lmao.... those rods are 110% IMPRESSIVE at 70 bucks... truthfully there impressive at 120 or less. and will FAR surpass that Berkley rod... for only a little more coin. one thing tho... If you have large hands and have never fished one that Fuji ACS reel seat you might not like... I have large hands and I like the ACS but know A LOT of ppl that dont. Good god somethings wrong.... I recommended something thats not a Daiwa? whats wrong with that lol. (Oh I know, Im REALLY tinkled at them about this years Icast releases.... no USDM PX68... but who cares I guess it just saved me some coins lol I own 4 JDM models already anyhow.) Quote
OHIO Posted July 19, 2010 Author Posted July 19, 2010 I bought the Quantum PT and the BPS Pro Qualifier. Can't wait till they get here. Quote
