Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted July 15, 2010 Super User Posted July 15, 2010 They aren't available on the US market, the new Morrum has been out in Japan for a few years maybe? :-? Looks really nice and I hear its well built. After seeing they were bringing out a high speed Premier, I kinda thought his name would be on some type of variation. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted July 16, 2010 Author Super User Posted July 16, 2010 I want one..... The blue one. You would. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted July 16, 2010 Super User Posted July 16, 2010 I wouldn't buy anything based on a picture( like getting a mail order bride from the Philippines, don't know what you get until she arrives). I also wouldn't buy anything based on what a reviewer like Tackle Tour. Using a brand new reel freshly spooled for a few days is not a true test, says nothing on the long term durability. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the manufacturers had "lobbyists" seeking favorable reviews. Quote

Alex77 Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Actually when TT reviews a reel they use it for months before putting out their results. But yes, I don't base my purchases purely on what they say. Those Ike reels above are just a prototype of another reel. The Ike version isn't be produced right now. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 17, 2010 Super User Posted July 17, 2010 Does the reel uilluminate with the lights blinking as you turn the handle? If so, then I want one. Quote
Super User Micro Posted July 17, 2010 Super User Posted July 17, 2010 The blue one retails for $469 and the red on for $499 at Japan Tackle. And that's without Ike's signature. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 17, 2010 Super User Posted July 17, 2010 Hey Micro, for that price I would want those lights to flash as you turn the handle and the reel play the Star Spangled Banner!!!! Quote

Spending $400 from a pic, to me that's' hilarious or not believing there is bias. You would be better off from a Bass Resource review. Quote
avid Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Brave to come out with a traditional round design and put a premium price tag on it. Quote

Go check out the reviews of the new Loomis rods and leave the same observation. BTW, I fished the Morrum 1600 Ultra Max on the Ike reel is based. It competes. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted July 17, 2010 Super User Posted July 17, 2010 What's the big deal ? One of these: https://www.mybedazzler.com/?mid=878186 and your favorite reel and Ta Da !!! Quote

1inStripes Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Brave to come out with a traditional round design and put a premium price tag on it. Ike apparently really like round reels. Watching City Limits I have noticed it is quite common for him to have a round reel in hand. Quote
SJB1226 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I have a Morrum ZX1600 IVCB-4... thats the red one but ofcourse it doesnt have Ikes name on it (thank god!!) Those reels are AWESOME simply AWESOME.. I fish only Daiwa but have a few reels in the reel case from ABU and this is one of them. I have fished it a few times and its a tank and cast like a rocket and is silky smooth.. I payed right around 600 bucks when I got mine more less when they first came out. is it worth 600 not really but to a JDM tackle freak and collector YES it is and thats why I have one. I probably will buy a Morrum ZX1600BJ IVCB-4 (The blue one) when I find a sweet deal on a new or almost new used one to throw in the reel case but I wont pay over 350 for it. they do look sweet and the thing has THE LGHTEST spool ive ever seen! but doesnt handle the light stuff as good as I thought it would even with ABEC9's on the spool.
