okiefisher8 Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 http://skeetreeseinc.com/Icast2010.html I'm not impressed by the look the reel, although it would look a lot better without the design on the side. I guess we'll just have to see how it performs. Quote
adclem Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Not quite a Revo, but only time will tell us to how good it actually is. Later, Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted July 14, 2010 Super User Posted July 14, 2010 Looks like they painted a Sabalos and added a faster gear set. What I'm really wanting is one of those jr. champion kits What's next, is he leaving Lucky Craft for Matzuo Quote
Super User burleytog Posted July 15, 2010 Super User Posted July 15, 2010 The rods were enough, but this reel? :-X Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 15, 2010 Super User Posted July 15, 2010 His Revo didn't look bad but that reel is plain ugly! And i think he could've found a better brand to make his reel, Seriously a Revo to Wright &McGill? In my mind thats like switching rods from a Loomis to an ugly stick (dont get me wrong uglies aren't bad i own a few ) Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 The guy is a good angler and a marketing wiz. The Skeeter man will get about twenty bucks per reel as a royalty. He does not give his name away for free. What's next ? Nike Air Skeeters, raised yellow wall tires, who knows. Quote
BassCats Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I like the fact that they will only cost $99-$119. He is starting to move to the weekend angler budget line and this will help his income and his image. Quote
FishinTN Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 How much can you expect from a $100.00 reel while paying royalties? With that said though, the BPS pro-Q is a darn good reel for the money..... Quote
kadas Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I am also glad to see the move to a more reasonable priced reel for the "average" fisherman--time will tell on quality-I know Skeet gets royalty from these products but I would think they would be a fairly good product or his name does not mean much to him--I know money would not matter that much to me to put my name on junk, having said that i do not own any but the reviews on his rods to this point seem to be mostly positive,it will never be 100% positive on any product-time will tell Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted July 16, 2010 Super User Posted July 16, 2010 Well at least it will match the rod. :-/ Quote
Incheon Basser Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 The reel is a cheep Chinese mass produced reel that is all over Asia for any Joe Shmoe to put his name on... Yoshikawa is selling the same reel with 9 bearings for 70$ here in Korea It's not a BPS Reel. All the BPS Reels Extreme and higher are mad at the same OEM as the REVOs Do Yu, this is not a Do Yu reel. Quote
