I was fishing  a tournament this last Sat. and I broke about 6 or 7 in. of the tip! The rod got caught on my butt seat and me as I turned I could hear CRACK. I feel sick, do any of you think I can save the rod by putting a tip on it or is it junk? I would think the whole action would change, it was a 6'6" MH. :'(

for $50 bucks you can have a brand new rod in hand in a few days. if you need it sooner, i believe they will overnight it for an extra fee...

id do the expeditor service before id attempt any repairs:

Xpeditor Program Details

G.Loomis Xpeditor: a paid service that allows you to replace a broken rod expediently and without question. There are two ways to request Xpedite Service:

1) Online at www.gloomis.com

2) via phone 1-877-577-0600.

Upon receiving your request, G.Loomis will immediately ship a replacement rod via standard ground delivery

When you receive your new rod, remove it from the shipping tube, place the broken rod into that same tube and affix the enclosed (pre-paid) shipping label on the outside of the tube.

The cost: $50.00 (Per Rod) for standard ground delivery (Master card or Visa only)

If you fail to return the broken rod within 30 days of receiving your replacement, you authorize G. Loomis to charge your credit card the full manufacturer's suggested retail price of the replacement rod in addition to the $50.00 (Per Rod) already paid.

Please Note: When using this service, if the rod you are receiving as a replacement is out of stock there will be a delay in shipping out your Xpeditor package.

Thank You, I will give them a call! That is a whole lot better than buying another rod or trying to fix the tip! I didn't know that G-Loomis had such a plan! :D

Thanks again,  Dan

You can try to give them a call, but the online expeiditor service will save you a good bit of time.  Since their customer service transition to the Shimano HQ in Irvine, CA, the hold times have increased substantially.

I was in Montana several years ago on a Church Mission trip. I took my 4wt 9 ft Loomis fly rod and some one picked it up inside the building and it got stepped on. I called my dealer and he Fed Exed me a brand new one at no charge. He said Loomis would take care of it and they did.

Since you broke it, mention using the expeditor option and not warranty. No warranty is going to cover this. Sorry to hear that, but the expeditor deal will get you back on track soon enough.

Cool stuff - that is rare for a company to offer something like that (an 'after-the-fact' kind of service, even if it is 50 bucks)

I am not a big fan of extended warranties - got a couple of cheapies at BPS a couple weeks ago just so we could hit the bank - shoulda heard me chuckle when the lady asked if I wanted a 2-yr protection plan on my $35 spinning combo

How much?

$15.

;D

Best warranty there is. Had to use mine a few years ago. Those Fed Ex guys are clowns.  ::D

Not the best warranty.

I stepped on one of my rods in the middle of the night and slightly bent one of the guides, took it back to where I bought....over the counter exchange, 2nd time I did that. No questions asked, that's a real warranty.

im glad yall had good expirances, mine have been terrible. The first time I used it, it took them sending me 3 different rods to get the correct one, finally after a month and a half they got me the right one. the 2nd time fedex destroyed the new one and it was some how my faul so I had to pay extra for them to send me a new one and it took another month.

WOW, i should feel I was lucky! After Fedex destroyed the rod I would have made them pay for the rod and not you!
