Braided line for all around purposes?

I fish in in Anchor bay of of lake St Clair and there is a health population of bass, pike, walleye, carp, and just about everything else. Bass are my main target but i sometimes get a nice pike too. i use 12lb Berkly xl casting which has never let me down. I use 6in steel leader with everything on my baitcaster and don't seem to have a problem with catching bass. Today i went out and was fishing in this canal that was BASS HEAVEN. lily pads, old docks, TONS of vegetation. I put on a spro frog and had several strikes but i still ge excited and set the hook to early. Anyways, had i even caught a fish i wonder if i would have been able to pull it outta the mess of veggies. Since i use a steel leader already I'm not worried about spooking fish. but I'm wondering if it would impact my fishing very much? i mainly use spinner baits and lipless cranks and then frogs some times.

Also, if i get braided lin im getting suffix performance braid

i dont see why not, as long as it doesnt spook fish, in your circumstances i actually think braid would be the best

I think its rarer than people think for fish to be spooked by the line. I cant think of once where I know a fish was spooked by the line and I did better with regualr line and I fish lots of clear water. I think most of the time when people get more bites on regular line it has to do with the line acting different and giving the bait the right action. For example braid floats and tends to dig into cover.

Its does fine with spinnerbaits and liplessbaits for me

I like to fish the slop so I have braid on my rods. I don't think I would ever fish frogs in the pads without braided line..

As for knots, should i use the improved clinch which is what i use for everything right now or should i learn the palomar knot. My step dad puts a dab of superglue on the knot to hold it together, anyone else do that?

Yes, the improved clinch knot works well with superline, If you have to add glue to the knot, you haven't tied it properly or have used the wrong knot. A palomar works very well with superlines.

Berkley Braid Knot is a must for braid for me. It was a PITA at first for me but once I learned it I used it quite a bit...

Suffix is super durable... Power pro casts great but breaks alot.

With many of the newer braids slick surface, a lot of knots have tendency to slip. I know the regular clinch is bad about slipping but I think the improved will hold better but I still like my trusty palomar just because it is quick and easy to tie even with cold fingers and I don't know if anyone watches North American Fisherman but on knot wars it was undefeated for like 2 years in a row but then was knocked down by some wierd knot

The Knot that beat it was called the Fish-N-Fool. It is actually pretty simple to tie. It might take me a second longer to tie it compared to the Palomar with naked hands.  It would be tougher with gloves on though.  As far as the superglue goes.  I will use it occasionally when I am tying florocarbon leaders to braid just because I think it helps over so slightly with eye friction and certainly my confidence.  However i never use it with terminal tackle.
