Anyone know how to paint a rod?

I really like the new skeet rods, but hate the yellow and black, was wondering if there is a way to make them all black but worry about paint chipping off when the rod is loaded and flexing.

An automotive bumper paint is flexible as is Krylon outdoor and either can be used to paint a rod. There are topcoats of similar makeup that will protect the paint. Custom tackle and rod building suppliers also sell suitable paints.
