Super User fourbizz Posted June 24, 2010 Super User Posted June 24, 2010 I love it. Especially for flouro. Much stronger than it looks, small and compact, fast and easy. Quote
Big Tom Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Whoa. That is ridiculously simple. I am going to go try this for myself. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted June 24, 2010 Author Super User Posted June 24, 2010 Cinching it properly can be tricky at first, but appears to be critical. Youll know you did it right when it cinches smoothly and the tag comes out perpendicular to the running line. I like it because there is very very little friction while cinching. Quote
Big Tom Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 It is deceptively easy. I know what you mean. It seems to work best with heavier lines. I tired it with some 10 lb. mono and it kept breaking off at the knot after a considerable amount of pressure. I then tied the palomar with the line and it was much harder to break. 15 lb. P-line CX Premium was unbreakable for me using this knot though. Quote
hmongkidBee Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 wow that knot is even easier than the palomar knot. I'll probably have to give it a try next time I go fishing. Quote

I bet if you tied that 10lb to a swivel, or dropshot hook instead of that big ole EWG, youll find that it retains it's strength. Quote

Super User fourbizz Posted June 24, 2010 Author Super User Posted June 24, 2010 I havent tried it, but i dont think it will work with braid. It will probably slip. Quote
NorCalFishinguru Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Cool little knot and I'll probably use if for flies but I'll be stubborn and still take the few extra seconds to tie a proven knot to everything else that i know can withstand some abuse with little risk Quote
