BadBass94 Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I just bought a spool of this line at dicks the other day because iv always wanted to try it and it was 55% off. Now, my first question is.. what kind of line is it? I was thinkin like a fluro or braid, but i didnt think braid because its translucent in water..? ANyway besides that has anyone ever used this line and have good luck with it? Durability, strength, memory. One of my bigegest things is memory. Hate knots! Any info is helpful thank you. Quote
rubba bubba Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Same material as braid but strands are glued together vertically instead of woven. Do a search on Fireline Crystal and you'll find a number of prior threads on it. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted June 16, 2010 Super User Posted June 16, 2010 It's the same as original gray (smoke) Fireline and has heat fused filaments basically making it a monofilament. It is a superline but not a braided superline. It has less stretch than a braided line and it is stiffer than most braids. It has some spool memory when new. It frays after some use and is an indication that you need to retie. Quote
Bassin for Walleye Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Got it, hate it, threw it...went back to PP Quote
RandySBreth Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 The same as regular Fireline, just different color. It does need a little "break in", but then it works just fine. Quote
