buzzbait4me Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I am thinking about buying one of these and wanted to know what you guys thought about it. http://www.buzzillions.com/reviews/field-stream-rainier-baitcast-reel-reviews It is pretty cheap put i think it will do just fine. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 16, 2010 Super User Posted June 16, 2010 Save your money and keep an eye on our Flea Market. The Shimano Citica is a great value and with a little patience, you will find it for a good price. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanocitica200e.html 8-) Quote
Super User grimlin Posted June 16, 2010 Super User Posted June 16, 2010 The first review threw me off. I don't like the sound of that thumb bar being that weak.Yet the guy gave it a 4 star.Doesn't make any sense to me. You get what you paid for comes to mind....that baitcaster costs less than $40....I'd stay away from it if that was me.I can't see it lasting long at all. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 16, 2010 Super User Posted June 16, 2010 If you don't fish much , buy it. If you fish frequently , don't buy it. Quote
Bass Junkie Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Don't.....DON'T! These reels run nice for a few trips, but 3 trips into my using it the anti-reverse was giving me issues, the magnetic control mechanism rubs inside the housing, creating a squealing noise, and the plastic piece that covered the thumbar cam off. Its NOT a good purchase...... > > > Quote
RussBert Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I wonder about this reel, http://www.***.com/descpage-DP100HN.html Take another 20% off this weekend and it sure is cheap enough at $32 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 17, 2010 Super User Posted June 17, 2010 I REALLY don't care what brand you buy, but save your money until you find $100 MSRP on sale for $50-$75. The cheaper reels are NOT a bargain. Quote
