Had a great trip the weekend before last, fishing with Kent and Speedy Madewell.

Long story, but Kent was using some of my gear Saturday.

We were fishing a bluff wall, looking for a little action from the brown fish. After seeing Kent drop his bait right on target several casts in a row, I remarked that he had really gotten dialed in with that unfamiliar rig.

He said, I really like this reel, what is it?

I have to repeat; he said, I really like this reel, what is it?

IT WAS A DAIWA!

If I hadn't been seated, I may well have fallen out of the boat.

Just thought you members of the Shimano Posse needed to know what your Sheriff is saying in more refined company.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

On a different note; this was my second trip with Speedy Madewell. If you're ever looking for a guide in the Pickwick area, be sure to call him. Reasonable rates, awesome boat and tackle, a top notch  guide with intimate knowledge of the river, and a great guy to ride around in the boat with. In the two trips I made with him, he put us on fish when a lot of other people on the river were getting skunked.

Wow !

Of course, what would have made this a better story is if he said he really liked the reel ..................................... and it turned out to be a BPS Pro Qualifier :)

If such words were uttered, they would forever be in my signature in every post I make lol1

I'll believe it when I see a Stella selling for dirt cheap in the flea market  ;D

May not a Pro Qualifier, but how about a Prodigy by Daiwa?? :)

I expect to see a Steez replace that Core50 on his G.Loomis MBR842.

Hmm...

Rule #1:

What happens at the river stays at the river...

Okay, the truth is I REALLY liked Gary's Fuego.

In addition to it's highly acclaimed standard features,

this particular reel was super tuned, including hand

polished gears. The performance of the reel was a

dead solid 10!

Oh! BTW...

The icing on the cake was 3-4lb brown fish!

Well, what can I say ?  now RW knows why I can 't decide what I like more between Daiwas and Shimanos. :)

Man, if he liked the Fuego I can only wonder how much he would like a TDZ or a Pixy ( even if it 's "pink"  :) ).

I threatened sending him my Ito to use for a month, and then dare to compare it to his Calais. he chickened out, LMAO.

Glad to see him expanding his horizons. Someone should slip him a Quantum Mickey on the next trip. :) :) :)

Next time I send you some reels, keep what you

want and send me your favorite "off brand" for a

trial.

8-)

I can't believe you called Yuki Ito "off brand."  LMAO....

Someone has obviously poisonned him!!! Come back to us RW!!!

nah, nah, I don 't think someone poisoned him, me thinks he just grabbed that unfamiliar rig freewillingly and poisoned himself in the process, kinda like stepping on poison ivy.  :)
