Revo Premier

How is the new premier at pitching and casting senko's, t-rigs and things of the sort? I am debating between it and the core.  If anybody has used the two and could compare them that would be awesome.  I just don't know if I can justify spending the extra $100 on the core.

I have both of these reels and I really don't think that the Core is worth the extra $$$.  The Premier is a dream to fish with and is an excellent pitchin reel and casts all other types of lures exceptionally well.

Both reels are top notch, but I just prefer the Premier

you can get the 2009 model Revo premier on freebay right now new in box for 120-140 shipped all day long! I fish only Daiwa JDM stuff but when TW had them on sale for 139 bucks I bought one just for the sun glasses lol... I played with it and was pretty suprized the spool is VERY light and starts up easy and fast the braking system is rock solid I never had to turn the mag up past 4 clicks.. and I keep no tension on my spool its as loose as I can get it with out side play.. its limit is 3/16th oz it can cast 3/16ths but not great the reel really comes a live starting around 1/4 and 3/8 and up is where it starts to peak! the reel isnt a pixy for throwing light baits but it is good... it preforms about like a Zillion.... but note it does NOT have that huge Revo drag they talk about... I would guess its around 10-11 pounds? its 10000% not 24 pounds like they talk about... anyhow I sold the reel because only Daiwas have a place on my boat deck and in my display cabinet... I think you would be very pleased with the reel.. it is pretty light to and fairly smooth

The 24 lb drag was never available on the Premier.  It had the typical Shimano, Daiwa standard of about 10 lbs.

He's not the only guy with the JDM background who likes the Revo Premier.  I used 4 TD Itos and with a couple of JDM Steez 103s for good measure.

The 2009 Premier was an exceptional reel.  The 2010, leaves it in the dust.  Honestly, there are few reels in the under $300.00 ball park that could touch it and few over that price range could compete.

I have one I throw crankbaits with shallow and med. it handles all of them well light to heavy. Casts great, and smooth, if any of that helps.

Stick with the Premier and save the extra $$$ for a future "upgrade".

I have a Premier and I have two of the Chronarch 51mg's...and I love em all.

The thing about the premier, I scored a 2010 model Revo Premier on eBay for 149 bucks. At that price there is no question, I'd go with it. It casts Senkos, worms, tubes...no trouble. Versus what I paid for each of my Chronarchs I'd have another of these vs those in a minute.

They do a really nice job, I'd go with the Premier and save the money. (As much as I love Shimano)
