Maybe I am a little late to the party but last weekend on my way to fishing I stopped and ran into Gander Mountain to pickup a few more Frogs for the trip and noticed that all the Power Pro Braid had an Improved sticker on them.

Due to the fact that I was in a rush and that I also have not been a big fan of PP in the past I really did not pay much attention to it, but it's been on my mine all week, as if the fishing gods or that dam bait monkey are trying to tell me something.

So my question to all you PP users is whats been improved?

It's rounder, smoother, thinner and stronger. It doesn't tear into your eyes as bad.  I absolutely love it!  I just put the fed off of mine on my fianc é's reel (She like it because "it matches better") and I put the green on mine - 50 lb test.

I just started using it this year and I have to say that I love it. The only negative is that I can't see it especially in low light.

It has low memory, casts great and is extremely durable. It also has a really small diameter compared to other braids and that sealed the deal for me. The spooler gizmo is pretty cool as well.

Yeah I noticed the spiderwire stealth had "new and improved" on it also.  Wal mart clearanced all the "non-new and imroved" braid for $5!!  I took a few boxes of the old stuff....  I guess I'm missing out...

Thanks all. I guess I will have to give it another try.

Dang it! I knew I should have bought it while I was there. I guess Jr will be happy for he will get another 35 minutes driving time there and 35 minutes back for his driving permit hours.

Sometimes "new and improved" means the line has changed and now sucks. That happened back around 2001 with Trilene XL and it's not brittle crap that breaks down in sunlight very quickly.

However I have always loved power pro, it peforms SO well. Doesn't tangle much, casts very well, and very strong.

Well I picked up a spool of 65lb test for Frog fishing so will see how she goes this time around.

I know what you mean iceintheveins. My favorite braid was replaced with Sonic Braid upon which Stren claims is better then Super Braid was. New and Improved? New maybe, an ok braid, but it's not no Super Braid.  >:)

Thanks again for the reply's guys. Hopefully this new PP works out for me.

I agree with you TourPT. I'm glad I have about 1,000 yards of the Super Braid.

As far as Power Pro, the only thing I can tell that is "new and improved" is the packaging.

I wish I knew that Stren was discontinuing Super for I would have spent the mortgage and two car payments to stock up on the stuff. The wife would have killed me and buried me with my fishing line, but there's fishing in Heaven I am sure, just got to get her to bury me with my Frog setup to and I am set to go. LOL

TourPT, some dealers still have some Superbraid. I know of one in Virginia that had a dozen or so spools during the Winter fishing shows. I bought a 300 yd. spool of the 30#.
