ghost_207 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Have anyone use the micro rod? I need some feedback because I might buy the Falcon Cara rod. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted May 12, 2010 Super User Posted May 12, 2010 For what it's worth, my Falcon Lowrider is an excellent rod. Being that the Cara is higher in Falcon's lineup, I would imagine it's that much better. I believe the Cara has a lifetime warranty also. Quote
okiefisher8 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I talked to a guy at falcon the other day. He loves the micro guides, but said if you backlash much than stay away, with the smaller guide it will be backlash city Quote
8assh0le Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Custom rod builders have been using these for a long time. IMO don't think it makes to much of a difference in casting distance. They are also supposed to reduce backlashes. One thing to think about is line slap. Unless they are spiraled. Everyone is jumping on the band wagon but I'm not buying into it. Quote
hmongkidBee Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 these micro guides are the big thing right now. I'm a custom rod builder myself and see improvements in casting as well as making your rod more balanced. The only drawback with micro guides to me is if you like to use leaders on your fishing line or when it's cold outside and your guides freeze up. Other than that micro guides are the way to go. Quote
