Think my line is still good?

Guys, here's the question. I spooled up 2 spinning reels middle of last summer (yea, last summer!). Had some health issues & didn't fish for a long, long time. The line is Yozuri 6lb hybrid and was treated with KVD line & lure. One only reel was fished and only once. Both have been kept out of the sun/UV rays, basically in good storage. Would you use it? Maybe spray some more KVD on it, or just respool?

I would use it. If it was stored properly like you did and treated with KVD it should be OK. Unless you are fishing a big tournament, then I would re-spool. :

The way you kept it stored is just like buying it from the store only it's on your spool instead of the manufacture's.

I'd use it. I have had reels well stored out of extreme weather for 2 years  without any problems.

I would spray it down again prior to use. It should be just fine.

I'd use it as well. Tie it to a tree and walk out half the spool of line. Then crank in the line and spray with KVD every so often.

YZH on a reel for a year?  Wow, that's gonna need some hair relaxer.

Thanks guys, yea, think I will respray with the KVD L & L and give it a try, hated to just trash it.

I'd give it a shot, with a short leash.  If you can, drag it behind the boat for 5-10 minutes in deep water at about 5-10 mph, letting about 50-75 yds out.  It will uncoil it pretty well, and remove any twist.

Not to HiJack the thread but i was stretching mine by dragging it behind the boat last summer with an old crankbait n hooked a 4 pounder..So maybe youll get lucky
