I just bought the vanish in 12 # test and I am going to try it out this weekend but I was practicing my flipping and pitching in my gold fish pond and so far it hasn't coiled up or anything but the one thing I have noticed is that it doesn't seem to want to slide well when I tied my knots and I had to work at it to get them tight.

It was supposedly improved for smoother casting and lower memory

No, and I not going to. I tried the other stuff and there is a saying I go by "you only have one chance to make a first impression"

Just about every " new and improved" usually is neither.

Nope I haven't and never will. Vanish was the WORST line, by far, that I've ever used. Like wire, and unpredictably weak. I think it was marketed and left for consumers to field test it. I suspect the new stuff is the same scenario. They won't get me twice, not with all the other brands to try.

I did try it out this weekend and had no problems with it and caught a nice little 4 lb but like you stated michbassman it is still in the back of my mind about the unpredictability but this time out I found nowhere where it had seperations or where the line looked like it was coming apart and casted really smooth and it did not curl up like it did the first time I tried it so I guess they have made some improvements.

You shouldn't base any thing only on one time.Use it for a few months and make your decision if they have truly upgraded it.

I have some of the new stuff. It all as the "new improved" (or something like that) sticker on the front. I spooled it onto my Core 50 MG7 in 10# and have been fishing it hard for a month. No issues with several big fish, fishing in the trees, in the rocks, etc. Seems as good as the Seguar Invisx that I normally use, at least so far.

I guess I disagree with some. I have used Vanish and Transition and like them both although at he price I like the BPS flouro.
