ichigo Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 is the line good good knot strenght ,less memory line? Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I have faired very well with this line. Never had knots slip or unexplainable breaks. XPS and Berkey Trilene 100% Fluoro I think are the two best Fluroro's out there (though, I haven't tried them all, so there maybe other good lines). Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted May 14, 2010 Super User Posted May 14, 2010 It's the only fluorocarbon line I use. I tried a few others before it and haven't seen the need to try any more. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted May 14, 2010 Super User Posted May 14, 2010 I used to hate fluorocarbon lines until I used the XPS. I really like it, I use 12lb on my jerkbait rod. Quote
TBendBassin Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 xps is great line it has just a tad bit more memory that seaguar but overall it is one of the better fluorocarbons Quote
fathom Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 just goes to show...it was lucky enough to last one day with me. in my hands, the xps seems to dig into itself after a heavy hookset, much more so than other fluoro's i've used...making the spool hang at the point of that dig on the next cast. when you set the hook on as many stumps as i do... endless Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 I really like it. I have the 12# on my carbon lite setup and no problems yet. So far it really seems very strong and I yet had that nick and fray problem people have mention and I'm pulling up branches, fishing lilies, and off rocks. I have only tried one other flouro so can't really compare it to anything else but I will continue to buy this brand. Quote
RandySBreth Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 This line was rumored to be Toray, but I don't think it's made by the same folks, and the contact I have a Bass Pro won't (or can't?) tell me who makes it for them. I've used it, and it's very strong. I only use it for leader w/superline, so I could't tell anyone how it works "full spool". Quote
sal669 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I use it in 6, 8 on spinning reels and 12, 15 lb on baitcasters. I like it. I also used Seaguar, Trilene and Vanish. You need to use spinning reels with wider spools (I use Daiwa 2000 and 2500 size) for better line management. Make sure the knot is properly tied, lubricated and set. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted May 16, 2010 Super User Posted May 16, 2010 Try the Seaguar InvisX, and AbaseX...good lines.. Quote
Nitro 882 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I tried one spool and it was yellow right out of the box. Don't know if this was due to light exposure or what. BPS personel had no idea. For me, Berkley 100% was better but Seaguar Invisx was best---clear as crystal. We all talk about fishing being a "confidence" game. Well, Seaguar exudes the quality that builds confidence. It is wound on the spool so perfectly it looks as if it were painted on. Knot strength, memory, line diameter, abrasion resistence etc. are remarkable. Quote
