Crankhead Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I've been looking for a product I can use on to clean the screen on my humminbird sonar/gps locators. I asked at bass pro & the guy takes me to watch a video playing about KVD's line conditioner. KVD explains how the conditioner works on your line & then Bill Dance comes on & says that you can use the conditioner to clean the screens of your sonar/gps units. Has anyone else heard of this and/or used this conditioner on their units? Quote
Crankhead Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 buzzcatcher...your answer is what I'm hoping to hear. I've tried windex, dish soap & even saliva but still get the smears. I have the 778c & 997c & just want to be sure before I try the conditioner. I did send humminbird a note & expect a response back in a few days. Thanks for the info. Quote
Willzx225 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Crank - I use it on my screens and it really does a good job for me. Quote
Crankhead Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 I just got the response back from Humminbird on if the KVD conditioner should be used on their screens. The response was not a no. But they suggest windex vinegar multi surface cleaner as what I should be using. Quote
BassThumb Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I use Bass Boat Saver or Bow To Stern. These are multi-purpose cleaners meant for fiberglass boats. I do the whole boat after I get home from every trip. The water stains, dust, and gunk are gone in a sec. No smears. The stuff is great, but it's not cheap. If you're only cleaning screens with it, it'll last forever. http://www.bassboatsaver.com/ http://btsprotectant.com/ Quote

No water spots. Rob the owner of the line Cond. and BTS told me to try this, and it worked! And by-the way the BTS is the best product that I have ever used on my fiberglass boat! It looks like my boat came off the show room floor, and I will NEVER use a wax product on my boat again! Thanks to BTS! Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted May 12, 2010 Super User Posted May 12, 2010 I just ordered some from BPS the other day and will be trying it. Quote
GonzoFishing Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Glad they found another use for it because imo it sucked as a line conditioner! ;D Quote
senko_77 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Crankhead, KVD L&L has tons of uses. Spray a little bit in your tackle boxes and it will fight the development of rust Quote
