ghost_207 Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 How good is this reel compare to curado 200e7? I can get a new one for 165. I fish a lot in heavey cover with lots of moss growing from the bottom. Need some help. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted May 3, 2010 Super User Posted May 3, 2010 Not gonna be my choice for heavy cover and I don't think I'm alone on this one. The Sol is a great reel for light bait/line applications, it's really a finesse reel. I use mine for shallow cranks and small jerkbaits. You would be better off with an e7 for heavy cover. If you can swing it, buy the Sol, that's a great price if it's new, you can always find something to use it for : Quote
Super User Micro Posted May 4, 2010 Super User Posted May 4, 2010 The Sol will handle that. It excels with light baits. But it has plenty of power and is certainly robust enough to handle that type of fishing. Quote
Super User Raul Posted May 4, 2010 Super User Posted May 4, 2010 Functionally one is as good as the other but the Curado is superior in line capacity, which means not that it will hold a lot of line but that it will hold more and heavier line that you 'll probably need, in the Sol once you begin thinking about spooling in heavier than 12 lbs the line capacity plumets to the floor.
