I fish  a 3/16oz with 6-8lb line. Lota guys like lighter weights, but I've had great success so haven't bothered changing it up.

Sounds good, esp w/wind in winter. Thought ya hadda go with eighth oz  or whatever and it takes forever getting it down where I'm marking fish on structure.  Ever use baitcasting tackle with 'em? How's that working if so?

i usually fish shallow rocky rivers so I usually stick between 1/8 and 1/4 but sometimes use up to 3/8 in football heads. Football heads work great on shakey heads around rocks. The depth i usually fish these are anywhere from 2-8 feet, although sometimes up to 10 or 12 (that's when I use the heavier weights)

1/16 or 1/8 are my two I go to.

But when it is a little windy or in water over 15' I will go to a 1/4.
