Wright & McGill Skeet Tessera Casting Rods And Abu Garcia Vendetta Trigger Rods

Which of these baits are the best.I mainly fish with soft plastics.I have a 7ft M vendetta.I just would like to know which of these two rods are better rod.I think the Vendetta rod is better.I've held one and it seemed little heavy to me and whippy.Vendetta is little more stiffer which I like.

i like the whipp, it tends to help me get those lighter baits farther but i like the vendetta alot too its all just a personale refrence in a persons likes and dislikes.but there both decent rods for th price

Really depends on the baits and how you're fishing them.  The WM rods are a softer rod.  In theory, it's nicer to have a little softer rod for situations like C-Rigging where a fish might not swim over the bait to engulf  it, more like they inhale it.  The rod with a little more give will allow that to happen easier.  In theory. 

I've got a couple of the WM rods and they're an alright rod.  They're not spectacular by any means but they're worth the money.

The Vendetta seems to be a  better all 'round rod for fishing jigs, weighted plastics that are pegged, or pitching.  Other than that, I think you'd get pretty similar performance out of the two.

I have never used a W&M SK rod, but have held them in the store. They felt like fly rods to me. The actions seemed very slow and they just didn't have the backbone I like. I like a rod that doesn't whip and flex when I am working a 1/4 or 3/8 oz bait but has the flexibility under load for fighting the fish. The Tessera's just seemed like wielding wet noodles to me, reminiscent of a fiberglass ugly stick.

The Vandetta was on the total opposite end of the spectrum. It felt like you had to really get into the rod to get it to flex at all. I wasn't overly impressed with it either. But if I were to have to choose between the two I would go with the Vandetta.

When I was shopping, I settled on the Kistler Carbon Steel series. When I felt it, it was like Goldylocks finding the bed that was just right.

I've only handled both rods, so my experience is very limited.  I wasn't impressed with either rod.  W&M action was too limp and heavy, while the Abu was on the stiff side.  It comes down to preferences.  I'm not big on blingy rods with bright colors, big decals, and multiple color schemes.  But between the two, I'd go with the Abu as it better suits my fishing style.
