2000WHITEGMC Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I have heard that Bandit cranks are some of the truest running cranks straight out of the box. Anybody else use them and what are your suggestions.? Quote
Jake. Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Lucky Craft. And this should help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1200868369/all Quote
bocabasser Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 although i have many different brands of cranks and love them all, right out of the box it is either a rapala or lucky craft. rapala is up there for me because i use a lot of them in fresh/brackish/salt water. with lucky craft, you get what you pay for-----a great hard bait. Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 bandits are the bomb but they are second to rapala. never ever had a bad rapala. cant say the same for all other baits. but bandits are good, my second favorite. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Bagley's are my favorite because of the craftmanship and variety. I love to collect them, and have a second set I fish with. (I'm a huge Bagley geek...). Bandits are my second because of the sheer amount of fish I've landed with them. Megabass are my third because they are the most beautiful lures out there, and still catch fish. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 I got a lot of cranks but I still have to say Rapala DT series is my favorite. I'm stocking up on a bunch of Zooms over the winter so we'll see if they live up to the hype this fishing season. They may end up being my new favorite. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 rapala and bagleys.Dont own any high end stuff(yet) but you get a good bang for your buck with these two brands and they just plain catch fish. Could maybe add bandits to the list also, they are great, but have been a little un-impressed with the quality of some of the newer ones. Quote
Mid-MO Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I try to stick with just a couple of brands - Norman (Little N Series), Strike King (Series 3 & 5), and Storm (Wiggle Warts only). For jerkbaits - I like Lucky Craft but can't bring myself to pay that much for a the crankbaits (which I lose a lot of). Quote
DaHorns Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I really like Norman cranks. I know LC are great but I just can't bring myself to pay that much for a lure that I will probably lose the first day out...... Quote
tfisherman Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Rapala DT's best crankbait ever! Go Fritts Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 27, 2008 Super User Posted January 27, 2008 Everyone has their favorites. I like Bandit. Have you seen the new colors that are out? The wounded yellow perch looks beautiful. I like the 100s and 200s. Firetiger is my favorit color along with the blue top and chartruse bottom Bandits 100s and 200s. Shad colors are good, too. Remember to note the forage and water clarity when selecting your crankbait. Quote
Joel W Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 As for me I really like the Rapala DT series. I've cant' recall ever having one that didn't run true right out of the box. The only thing I never really cared for is their Sure Set hooks. I replace them as soon as I get the new Crankbaits home. Quote
moby bass Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Rapala. I've only owned one Norman in my life, worst running lure I ever had. Took a while to get it tuned... then I lost it, same day. > Quote
Ballpark Frank Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I also say Rapala DT and flat DT. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted January 28, 2008 Super User Posted January 28, 2008 Over the years, I've had alot of success with Rapala and Bomber. Falcon Quote
