shootermcbob Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 What knots do you recommend for joining two lines together?? Do you use the same knot for joining two different kinds of line (braid & mono) as you do for joining the same kinds of line (say fluorocarbon)? Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted April 24, 2010 Super User Posted April 24, 2010 Uni to uni (double uni). Works for same line, also works for braid to mono/flouro. Relatively easy to tie. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted April 24, 2010 Super User Posted April 24, 2010 X 2. There are other knots that according to others here work just as well. As with any knot, properly tying it makes a big difference . Uni to uni (double uni). Works for same line, also works for braid to mono/flouro. Relatively easy to tie. Quote
tennwalkinghorse Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Uni to uni (double uni). Works for same line, also works for braid to mono/flouro. Relatively easy to tie. 3X I have used a nail knot, but I have had them slip so I want back to the uni - to- uni knot Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 24, 2010 Super User Posted April 24, 2010 Adding line, same type and diameter: Blood Knot http://www.animatedknots.com/bloodknot/index.php Fluorocarbon or mono to braid: Alberto's Knot http://www.stripersonline.com/Pages/Articles/article_arby_albertos_knot.shtml 8-) Quote
BassThumb Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Hey thanks again for that link Roadwarrior. I was practicing tying those Alberto Knots the other day while the NFL Draft was on. I like it better than the Double Uni becasue it has a smaller profile, although it's not as easy to tie. Quote
