anyone got any feed back

Posted

I picked up the 7430 a while back and Rooster is correct, it is extremely smooth. My complaint is with the limited size options and their weights. The smaller model (7430) has an arbor diameter that is only 0.08" larger than the diameter of a Symetre 2500FI spool. Not enough of a difference to justify switching over. It does cast well, but I've yet to see a spinning reel that didn't.

The larger model, the 7440 has a spool that is larger in diameter, but the dang thing weighs 11.2 oz! Way too heavy, imho, for a freshwater spinning reel.

An Arbor 7435 weighing in at 9.5 oz or so would be just about perfect for me, but unfortunately that's not an option. They only offer the 30 and the 40.

I have the 7440... No complaints so far. I've used various types of braid, fluro and mono on it with good results. So now I have the primary spool with PLine CX premium in 12LB and the spare with 20LB braid.

I did have some problems with transoptic line but sadly I think that was 'user' error. :o
