Falcon makes some good rods but buy the best St. Croix you can afford and you won't be sorry.

I had a Falcon for one day.  I didn't like it and took it back to BPS.  I bought 4 St Croix Avids year before last and still have them, though I don't like them as well as my Gloomis rods.

Without a doubt, Falcon makes a good rod (popular with Florida guides),

but I personally place St Croix in a higher category.

My partner does some guiding and supplies his

clients with Falcon rods. They are durable and seem

to be just fine for "moving" lures.

However, St. Croix Avids are a step or two up.

I fish six St. Croix, six G. Loomis, a Lamiglas

and a Fenwick Techna AV. Although I prefer G.

Loomis, St. Croix is the "best value".
