Diablos Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Falcon makes some good rods but buy the best St. Croix you can afford and you won't be sorry. tap...tap...tap...waiting on a certain moderator to chime in Quote
walleyejgr Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 ya cant really complain about my croix's they are top shelf rods. Quote
smallwatermayhem Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Both are high quality rod manufacturers, and which one you choose is more based on personal opinion than fact. Quote
Nine Miler Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 i take it hes a falcon fan? Maybe, better chance he's a St. Croix fan though Quote
TxBuddha Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I've fished both. St Croix without a doubt, anything from a Premier on up. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted April 19, 2010 Super User Posted April 19, 2010 I had a Falcon for one day. I didn't like it and took it back to BPS. I bought 4 St Croix Avids year before last and still have them, though I don't like them as well as my Gloomis rods. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted April 19, 2010 Super User Posted April 19, 2010 Without a doubt, Falcon makes a good rod (popular with Florida guides), but I personally place St Croix in a higher category. Roger Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 19, 2010 Super User Posted April 19, 2010 My partner does some guiding and supplies his clients with Falcon rods. They are durable and seem to be just fine for "moving" lures. However, St. Croix Avids are a step or two up. I fish six St. Croix, six G. Loomis, a Lamiglas and a Fenwick Techna AV. Although I prefer G. Loomis, St. Croix is the "best value". 8-) Quote
