I can see buying on ebay when there is a good deal but it seems that most ebay stores sell for suggested retail or close to it.

I just checked Simmons and most of his auctions are suggested retail. Add in the $8.00 ground shipping for a reel plus paypal fees and it adds up.

For someone on the east coast, tackle warehouse with its $5 2nd day air seems to be a better value.

When you guys talk about the great prices you got on EBay, are you actually "bidding" for the reels, or going the "Buy It NOw" route?

Just curious. Do you generally get a better deal by "bidding" or is that a phoney way for the seller to get what they can? Some of the "Buy it NOw" prices seem about the same as Cabelas, Bass Pro, etc. etc. Or am I just not looking in the right places. . .

I go the bidding route on reels and other items and if it gets to say within $10 of what I would pay at Cabelas or Bass Pro then I go that route.

I got my Quantum Catalyst PTI20B for $60 plus $8 shipping for a total of $68 when they were still going for $119-$139. It was Brand New in Box with all the papers.

I have bought and sold alot of stuff on ebay. I bought 2 reels from a guy once and when they arrived they were in awful shape. So he paid for return shipping and refunded my money. I always use bing * cashback when I use buy it now. Its usually an 8 percent cashback but sometimes it goes as high as 15-20 percent. I bought most of my glx rods using cashback rewards and paid around 280 each for 400 dollar rods brand new. Go to bing and type buyitnow in the search engine and it will say what the percentage is. Takes 2-3 months to get the money back in ur paypal but it always works 100 percent. 701nodaksports is the best g loomis seller on ebay as far as price goes. I wouldnt buy from anyone else unless they beat their price and had good feedback. I think "oh ya sales" owns 701nodasksports tho cuz the shippping tube said oh ya on it. Might have been drop shipped from oh ya, not sure.
