AZfishrman01 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Can anyone please tell me what model this Daiwa is? I've looked all over for it and can't find one. Quote
0119 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Team Daiwa TD-X. Top of the line Daiwa when in was available and very nice....still Quote
AZfishrman01 Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Thank you very much. I'm pretty interested in getting one. You say they're hard to find now? Quote
AZfishrman01 Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Wow, that's such a shame. Do you have any idea why? Quote
Uncle Leo Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I was able to pick one up NIB on Ebay a couple of months ago. It was at the original list price. These were sweet reels, cast like a dream. If you look hard enough they can be found. Quote
sleepman00 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 overstock. com has them http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys/Daiwa-TD-X100HSD-Baitcast-Reel/4286985/product.html Quote
AZfishrman01 Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Thanks a lot guys for the feedback. Much appreciated Quote
htbass Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I recently bought one of these reels used on Ebay last month. It is an awesome reel. I'll be buying a one or two more at some point. Quote
ChazfromVA Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 how much were they originally?? because i lifted a mint condition one off a guy i know for $20 a few weeks back. Was it a score? Quote
seyone Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 A post in the flea market might get you one at a good price. Worth a try. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 15, 2010 Super User Posted April 15, 2010 how much were they originally?? because i lifted a mint condition one off a guy i know for $20 a few weeks back. Was it a score? If that's the case, then you scored the deal of the decade...seriously. On a related note, did Daiwa ever make a mirror image left-handed TD-X? I've always wanted this reel, as everyone loves theirs, and I think they are one of the coolest looking reels ever. I would LOVE to have a mirror image lefty. Quote

Super User Raul Posted April 15, 2010 Super User Posted April 15, 2010 That particular reel from the picture is the super tuned version of the TDX, when that reel was offered it came in two versions, the super tuned got some extra goodies just for 10 dollars more, they ran for $210. You got it for 20 you had the deal of the decade. I used to own one and it 's a fantastic reel. On the other question, no Daiwa did not offer a mirror lefty of that reel, the lefty version is a gripping left reel. Quote

Super User Redlinerobert Posted April 16, 2010 Super User Posted April 16, 2010 That was definitely an awesome reel in its day. Still is! Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 16, 2010 Super User Posted April 16, 2010 Thanks for the info Raul and J. I've known about the ergonomic TD-X for some time, but have always dreamed about a mirror image lefty. A man can dream... ;D Quote
AZfishrman01 Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 More importantly, what kind of rod is that in the picture? It was a custom built rod. Quote
yamisoez Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I've had the 200 version in black for years and years. Always served me well, In fact I just pulled it out of storage to begin using it again. Quote
