Super User J Francho Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 The Premier is my favorite Revo. Great little reels. Quote

L a r r y Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 nice reel..rod depends on what you wanna use the reel for though... Catchin fish ;D.......but really. I have not designated any one setup to solely targeting one specific technique. I currently have a 7'MH vendetta/premier, and I have a 6'3" M vendetta/stx-hs. And I throw everything on each of these. I spend the majority of my time from the bank, so I try to set my combos up to throw a wide variety of baits. I've had pretty good success with what I have now, and not alot of fish loss after hookup. Still kind of up in the air on what I want to pair this up with. What would you cats do? Quote
brushhoggin Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 price range? bucoo 7' MH is a great all arounder. its what i put one of my STX's on after kicking my Cara in the reservoir, very similar in balance, weight and action. another good all arounder is the Kistler mag small swimbait special 7'3". i fish everything on this rod despite the technique spacific title they give it. SWMIBASSER Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Those are pretty nice. I got one a month or so ago. Swapped 7.1 gears and a carbon handle in/onto it the same day I got it. ;D I want to get another one, but I want so many other things that I'm going to skip it. This winter has been extra bad for me. Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 he sent me an email today with an order for a new Dobyns Savvy Series Rod....how'd he get my paypal info? : Quote
endless Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Nice reel. Don't feel bad, it happen to me too yesterday. went BPS and spent maybe $250 or more. I've bought the carbonlite combo, renew license, rattle traps, and etc. Thankfully I had $13 dollars on my rewards card. That did help on my second purchases. I did get my son's picture taking with easter bunny while I was there. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 4, 2010 Super User Posted April 4, 2010 Buy what you can afford. Quote

Like you I have to use each rod for as many types of baits as possible. I'm lovin' the first rod I bought, a used Airrus XL Ultra 7' MH Fast. Have it paired with a super tuned Fuego I bought from TW on close out. Not a jigging rod, but purdy darn good for a lot of other lures: buzzbaits, swimbaits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, etc. Spooled with 12 lb. Elite. I also picked up a Fenwick Techna AV from Fisherman's Factory Outlet., another 7 footer MH Fast, but this will be used for jigs and plastics. Spooled with 40 lb. braid on an STX. FFO still has a few 7' and 6'6" MH Fast rods left. Use their $25 off, and the rod costs a few pennies over $100 with shipping for a $220 rod. I also keep an eye on the classifieds, but have already spent more this year than I should have. Still, I need another rod to go with my other Fuego. Haven't decided on a rod for it yet. Maybe I'll just keep an eye on this thread. Never know what idea might turn up. Quote
L a r r y Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 I ended up getting a 7'3" MH Mod Vendetta....I can't help it, but I love this line of AG. I moved my STX to the it and put the premier on the 7' MH F rod. I'm on the fence of picking up the BPS Carbonlite rod, or wait until the middle to end of the year to grab a Veritas. If there is something else that I see in the classifieds that I can't pass up, I will ****** that up Quote
