barroncooper Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 just got my new 2010 revo sx in the mail today in 7.1. I'm amazed at how smooth it is. and yes I'm a shimano man. this thing is neck and neck in casting ability with a curado and maybe a tad smoother. I have only one concern though. this reel has a really short handle I noticed and on the retrieve it seems a lot more labored than the 7.1 curado. is this because of the shorter handle. has anyone noticed this. I think I'm gonna move this reel to my worm and jig rod and move the curado to the trap rod. Anyone have any experience pitching with this reel Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 This model has been my pitching reel for the last two years. It handles all weights, even weightless senkos. The ratio allows for quick reel ins and getting that bait back out there where it belongs. This is much better performing reel than my Quantums. Wait till you try the new 2010 Premier. Good gollie what a caster. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted March 30, 2010 Super User Posted March 30, 2010 that is the reason that i want to get last years model SX . i am putting a handle from a Skeet Reese model on my SX , i also hate the short handles ( on all baitcasters , that is why i bought an Inshore also) Quote
barroncooper Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 interesting. I wonder if one of the longer revo handles will work on the new sx Quote
