Hey all...

I recently accquired two Shimano Stradic 4000FH spinning reels. The rubber pieces on the end need to be replaced. New, the entire handles are $26.00 from Shimano. I am being told that I can't replace just the rubber pieces, that I have to replace the entire handle. Anyone know if this is correct? Does anyone have these handles the want to sell, or does anyone know a person/company that sells used Shimano parts??

Here's the parts schematic from Shimano. It is part number 7990.

Thanks,

thats how most companies are . you are talking about the handle grips , i assume . i wanted to buy some from abu garcia a while ago but they said they only sell the handle and grips as one whole piece , same story from quantum ... for $26.00 , seems like the best bet or post in the flea market that you are WTB (want to buy ) :D

I have never seen anyone in my 25 yrs doing service that listed used parts...

You were advised right because that grip doesn't have separate pieces like some other higher end crank systems would...

You could check with Mike's but he doesn't sell used parts either, and, even if he did you are buying from a shop in Canada and the international shipping $$$ will hurt the pocket book...

I would check places like Southwestern Parts & Service or check the net garage sale (E-bay) and try to find the whole crank...

There are a few guys I have found with a quick check on the web that sell "used" parts. Every handle but the 4000 I need. I'll keep looking or order them from Shimano. Didn't mean to insult you about the used parts.

No problem. Service centers don't use or even look for used parts, probably why we never bothered to look on the net for them.
