KSRonH Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I know there are 1000+ lines out there and 1000+ people would have 1000+ opinions on which line is best. I have used Gamma copolymer, purple box, line on all my spinning and casting reels and have loved it. Now that this line will no longer be manufactured if you are or were a Gamma line user, what will you use in the future? Please don't respond if you haven't used the Gamma line and are not familiar with its characteristics. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 18, 2010 Super User Posted March 18, 2010 I have fished Gamma and liked it, too! Your closest alternatives are Inviz for spinning tackle and AbrazX for baitcasting gear. I'm sure you would like Sunline Defier, too. If price is important, P-Line CX or CXX and Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft are some other suggestions. 8-) Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted March 18, 2010 Super User Posted March 18, 2010 Izorline XXX is the closest to Gamma co-poly in my opinion Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted March 19, 2010 Super User Posted March 19, 2010 Oh no!!! I was not aware of this. Quote

I used Gamma alot and loved this line! I went to my Gander store to load up on the Gamma and there was NONE, the sales guy told me they sent it all back! You would think they would have put the Gamma in the bargin bins just to brake evan. No more Gamma Quote
Primus Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I also was a fan of Gamma line, I think you will like Yozuri Hybrid if you give it a try. Quote
J_Pearson Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I'm a little late on spotting this post, but I had heard they were no longer producing line...It's Such A Bummer! I really liked that line. I know there are many opinions out on the water, some people love it, some people hate it, but personally I had no problems at all and had a ton of confidence in it. It's going to be a sad day when my last spool of it I've got stocked in the basement is out..which will be sooner than later. I'm giving P-line CXX a test drive this next week, because you best believe I'm putting any new line I get through Boot-camp before I use it in upcoming tournies! > Quote
b.Lee Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Maybe the owner of Gamma wants a stock of his own line since they are no more. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted March 26, 2010 Super User Posted March 26, 2010 I did talk to the people at Gamma! And they told me that the Gamma line Div. is being sold and a deal with another company will be done soon. That does not mean that the Gamma line will not be made anymore. We will have to see who buy's the Gamma line and that they keep making a great line! Quote
