hi,

I'm decided on whether to get a quantum Tour Edition PT or the Energy PT. I know the prices are quite different tour edition Pt is 260ish and energy pt is 189sih. Besides the weight and look, how different are they. Break systems? Is the Tour Edition PT harder to cast? I know the pt energy has 0,3,6,9 breaks what does the tour edition PT have? has anyone used either can u give me a review.

I have the Tour Edition in left hand.  Both reels you mentioned are the same only difference is the TE has the carbon handle that makes it just a shade lighter than the Energy.  Both have the same bearing count and braking system.  I would have liked to get the Energy if Quantum came out with the color scheme of the previous Energy...which I think is way cool.

It's a toss up, both reels are smooth but I think the TE is just a bit smoother.  The TE is not harder to cast actually it is smoother than my Curado 201E and Zillion 7.1:1...I am serious about that.  Quantum did a very great job with the current line up.  I have the TE, the Catalyst and now the new Accurist.  All 3 share the same body but bearings and smoothness differ.  The TE just feels way too good and feels good on most of my high end rods.

If price is a strong factor, I'd go withg the energy, I have a burner and it's a really nice reel.  I would do a little price shopping and find a deal on one, I got mine for $130 and for that it is well worth it.  If price isn't that b ig of a factor, get the tour, it looks alot better than the energy.

I have the Energy and I really like it. At the risk of rounding up the posse, I like it better than my Citica. Part of that may be that I got mine for $70 bucks at Dicks two years ago, it was on sale for 100 or so and I had a $30 coupon. Don't think you can go wrong with the Energy personally.
