Yellow Braid?

Do any of you fish the yellow braid and do you like it better than the green braid? I know that the yellow is a bit better to see a strike! I gave it some thought and I may try the yellow. Not sure if I should use a Flou. leader or use a black marker to black out about six feet of line?

Was going to try some myself for the same reasons.  I like watching the line.  Confidence thing if nothing else.  Just hard to find local without ordering.  Plenty of Green though. ;D

Try it you might find it helps or not. Just black out a six ft. area and see what happens.

Yeah, that stuff is VERY visible. One of my "ocular challenged" (coke-bottle glasses) buddies uses it. I told him "I can see that stuff in the dark with my eyes closed!"

I thought about using yellow or red line, but I'm kind of leery. Although you do see people using it...

Were did you get the Sufix Neon Fire? Because I went on the Sufix web site and it was not on there! They have a Key Lime but I think that is for salt water.

I have been using Hi Vis yellow Power Pro for so long that most of it is white now.  In clear water, which is mostly where I fish, I use a fluro leader unless fishing deeper than 30'.

fwiw, sufix neon fire is bright but the orange color wears off very quickly and it does not fish as smoothly as green sufix. i have yellow power pro too and i like it better. as for whether fish bite it or not, the jury is still out on that for me. i've been marking it black with poor results so i will try it unmarked. maybe i just too much confidence in green.

I went on the BPS web site and i did not find the Sufix? They did have the Power Pro in high vis.yellow!

ive been using powerpro yellow for topwater presentations mostly in saltwater and i like it alot. on a super long cast it makes keeping an eye on your lure better. also when that topwater strike happens at the end of a long cast i can actually see my line moving even before i feel it on the braid. that is awesome. it keeps me from setting the hook on missed strikes and ruining the moment.

my only draw backs with yellow braid has been that the color bleeds incesently. it gets on your guides and fingers.

this doesnt bother me in saltwater as a) im already wearing gloves and 99% of my saltwater fishing is done with uglysticks and the aluminum guide inserts wipe clean, and i dont care cause its a 60 dollar rod and not my crucial.

good stuff though.

p.s. ive worked it out (in my mind anyway) that yellow line is harder to see looking up at the sky than darker colored line is. just like fish are colored lighter on the bottom. i think it silouettes less. may just be me. the yellow line works great for me on speckled trout and they see as good if not way better than a bass does.

I've been using yellow for several seasons and have found it to be very visible.  I use Yozuri green fluorocarbon for a leader, not so much for the visibility factor, but so that when I get hung up, it will break.  I have used PowerPro, Stren and Tuf Line yellow braid and haven't noticed much difference in performance or durability.

I use the Suffix Yellow Braid and in Nebraska water have no problem and don't use a leader up here.  Going to Lake Fork Saturday and in the process of transferring to Moss Green Power Pro.  Never thought of black out the botton 6, great idea.  I also intend to use a floro leader.

Thanks to everyone for the info! I will try some yellow braid! The bad thing is the price of the braid " Not Cheap stuff! :'( I just did drop about $ 400.00 at BPS! But I think my wife will kill me!

Blacking out the last 6' is a good idea.  I never even considered using the stuff but I might have to try it now.  It might make a good line for flipping and pitching heavy slop where the fish wouldn't likely see the black line because of the shadows.  I'm pretty inexperienced with slop "Punching", but sometimes those strikes are very subtle and seeing the line better couldn't hurt.

Last year was the first time I tried yellow PP on both a heavy baitcasting rig and one med-hvy. spinning rig. These old eyes are giving me trouble with detecting line ticks and this yellow PP more than makes up for it.

I use a 7' - 8' fluoro leader connecting with back to back uni knots. Used this set up all last year and caught some really fine bass with these two rigs. I see no problem with the yellow at all.
