I need help figuring out what to use this rod for. Bought it off tw during the classic for 109 which is 40 dollars off its orignal price.  Think it can handle 1/4 to 3/4 lures.   Rattletraps or medium cranks?   Appreciate any help

If it is Medium Power/ Fast Action then soft

plastics and light jigs are perfect. However,

this would also be considered an "all around"

rod.

If it is Moderate Action, it is designed for

treble hook lures regardless of the Power

rating.

That is a target casting rod (docks, laydowns, etc).  I wouldn't use it for lipless cranks, but you aren't me.

No, crankbaits.  I wouldn't throw anything other than a crankbait on that rod.  Far too moderate action.

Dixon - If you are refering to the KVD Crankbait rod then you have a great rod for shallow to mid depth crankbaits.  I absolutely love this rod and use mine to throw primarily shallow flat sided baits, shad raps, and speed traps.  You should be very pleased with that rod for crankbaits.
