basspimple Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 i bought a spool but i just dont like it. i have to tie the knot 2-3 times befor it will hold. yes i do wet it before i cinch it, but it keeps happening. i like what flourocarbon has to offer, but does anyone have a line of choice they would be willing to comment about?(besides yozuri, which is practically indestructible. ;D) Quote
hmongkidBee Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 buy some seaguar invizx or abrazx. You won't be disappointed, I guarantee. Quote
ToledoEF Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I like the bass pro brand and spiderwire 100%, I also used suffix 8lb on my spinning gear in the summer for river smallys! Quote
lsufan334 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 yeah viscious flouro is horrible. i have two spools in the shop and refuse to use it. I really like the xps flouro from bass pro. and it is on sale for $12 a 200 yd spool too (online only) cant beat that deal. Quote
Beastie Bass Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Yes! Viscous has been my worst line yet! I put it on 2 baitcasters and took it off after the first outing! > I like yo-zuri but I have to order it. I have sufix flouro now and I love it! I also have P-line flouro-clear and its good too but not nearly as abrasion resistant as the sufix. If money is an issue the P-line is super cheap! Quote
Super User David P Posted March 19, 2010 Super User Posted March 19, 2010 You just picked the wrong line. Trilene 100% and Pline Fluorocarbon are great. I like Invisx too, but only 20lb and 25lb, the lighter 10-15lb lines stretch too much for my liking. Since using their 25 I haven't noticed the same rubber band effect as I had with the 12lb. Quote
BassThumb Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Viscous can't be any worse than Berkley Vanish fluoro! Quote
Super User Dan: Posted March 20, 2010 Super User Posted March 20, 2010 Vicious in 6lb has been working pretty well for me. Haven't tried any higher # tests. I use 15lb Seaguar Invizx a lot and it's awesome. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 My experience with Viscious floro is that it is not a good spinning reel floro, but I am using the 10lb on two crankbait rods for the second summer now and it has performed fine. I use a uni knot on a duolock snap for my crankbaits with no problem. Great price. Quote
basspimple Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 well, ive been using it on my spinning combo in 6lb. test. it works fine when the knot actually holds, but i dont like taking chances with that light of test. thanks for all the replys, im thinking of trying BPS flouro when i get the chance. Im usin old faithful right now, yozuri ultra soft is where its at! Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I'm also using 6# vicious on one spinning set up and so far so good but I have only been out with it once so far. Hooked up with 7 fish with the largest being about 4lbs with no problems with the knot. I am using the palomar knot with a shallow running crankbait with pretty much just weed issues in the lake I'm fishing. Other than applying some KVD for some line memory it has worked fine. Quote
