Bassbum80 Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 OK...I am new to this site and I have been doing a lot of reading about lures and such and I am getting really confused. I am a pretty generic bass fisherman...I fish a lot of t-rigged worms, grubs, tubes, spinners, etc. year after year after year. I am really trying to break into some of the new stuff, or at least new to me, and thought if I got some top 10 lists from people, I could find some new favorites of my own. I realize everyone has their personal favs, but I am sure I will find some trends. Thanks in advance for anyone taking the time!!! Quote

Bassbum80 Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 This is awesome guys...I appreciate the help. It seems like the general consensus is that I am going to have to go out and spend the $15/ea on some LC lures. Thats okay though. The crankbaits are where I was having a lot of trouble too, because you open up a BPS master catalog and try to pick out some crankbaits, where do you even begin if you don't know what you are looking for. I really appreciate you taking the time and I will start shopping soon! Quote
clooney Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Pick something you can use all season and fish it almost exclusively. This is great for learning new baits and techniques. I did this last year with jigs, which I had never really used before. Jigs are now my #1 bait and the one I have the most confidence in. Good luck this year! Quote

Super User K_Mac Posted April 8, 2006 Super User Posted April 8, 2006 cjensen I agree completely with you about the Roadrunner. In a recent post I said a Roadrunner jighead (1/8 or 1/4 oz.) with a 3" grub was one of my go to ways of catching numbers of fish. It is my favorite Crappie bait as well, in a variety of weights and colors. Quote
cjensen Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 There's been more than one time while fishing a tournament that I've busted out the ole RoadRunner, may not have won it for me but it usually gets me out of the "0 fish" column. Reminds me when I had to ride a bike to get somewhere to fish, with only ONE fishing rod/reel, and I didnt even carry a tackle box, just took what would fit in my pockets. I'd use a roadrunner all day and that was it. I dont think I've ever caught a bass much over 2 lbs with one, but when the going gets tough it's hard to beat. Quote
