set_the_hook Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 are there stll guys using copolymer for most applications such as worm and jig presentations or is it safe to say most are using some brand of fluorocarbon? i know fluoro has less stretch, and is less visible, but i know copolymer lines have come a long way also and are not as stretchy as mono. i myself use fluoro for most of my techniques im just wondering if the higher price outweighs the amount of bites Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted March 21, 2010 Super User Posted March 21, 2010 I have used both fluro, and copoly, I have had breakage issues with the fluro, which was trilene 100%.. I have since returned to my Yozuri hybrid ultrasoft line. I use the yozuri in 4, 6, 8 10, 12 and 15 lb tests. Until someone comes out with a better fluro, or coploymer..I stick with what I have. Super User Gatorbassman Posted March 21, 2010 Super User Posted March 21, 2010 I use Izorline XXX copoly on every rod but my dropshot and frog rod. I've used it for 4 years and I don't see any reason to change it. It has never failed me. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted March 21, 2010 Super User Posted March 21, 2010 I fish a lot of clear water lakes with spinning gear and actually prefer the copolymer lines (P-Line) over my Invizx set up. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted March 21, 2010 Super User Posted March 21, 2010 I use Izorline XXX copoly on every rod but my dropshot and frog rod. I've used it for 4 years and I don't see any reason to change it. It has never failed me. that is my favorite line !!! it is the only line i use for swimbaits unless it's gamma co-poly. for such a strong line it is very smooth and doesn't coil as bad as say CXX . i use it in 25 and 30 lb . for swimbaits , 8,10,and 12 lb. for my bait casters , 6lb for spinning . i switch of and on with CXX(p-line) on the spinning setup . but a word to others that throw big baits , this is THE line to use !!! i have had ZERO problems with it , and i only use an improved clinch knot !!!! jdw174 Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I've used nothing but SilverThread co-poly since Bagley first imported it years ago. One of the most reasonably priced lines on the market, IMO it's still one of the best. All my rods are spooled with it from 10-25lb test. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted March 21, 2010 Super User Posted March 21, 2010 I use P-line CXX and Flouroclear for most of my fishing. I don't like braid and use very little fluorocarbon so copoly lines are pretty much it for me, although, I have bought a couple new spools of FC to try out this year Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted March 21, 2010 Super User Posted March 21, 2010 I use Gamma and found it to be a great line! I use 6 to 8 lb. on spinning and 12 to 17 on baitcasters! Quote
Stingray23 Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 last year I used p-line CXX and yo-zuri hybrid on all my baitcasters, invizx fluoro on my spinning. this year I'm using fluro on all my setups except my flipping setup(CXX) and my topwater setup(yo-zuri). Between the two, I prefer the YO-Zuri hybrid. very manageable. Quote
