Looking to get some braid, but still learning about it. Do all braids have a color residue that comes off and stains reels and boat sides? Read a article that it slowly rubs it's color off and stains reels and boats finishes. Would like to avoid that type of braid if possible, what are some things to consider when picking braid? :-?

I use Sufix Performance Braid. It lost some of its color, but it didn't stain anything as far as I know.

Some braids will flatten out with use. The good kind will keep their round shape. Power Pro and Sufix both keep their shape as far as I've seen. Thats about all I can chime in for here.

try some izorline premium spectra braid , does not "bleed" like others . power pro is good also , but don't try the red colored braid , it bleeds like it was actually bleeding   ;D

I had this happen really bad one time with moss green powerpro.  However, I emailed them and they replaced the spool for me.  I have been using powerpro for years and never had it bleed like this.  In my experience brand new line, especially larger test, will leave some color on my hands but it goes away after a few uses.

I'm not fond of braid and don't use it much but the best I have used has been the Suffix, the color doesn't bleed like others, fireline is some of the worst I've seen  .

its been my experience that green power pro bleeds the least, if at all.

yellow braid.... of all 4 types ive used... bleeds pretty bad. i use yellow powerpro for my saltwater topwater rod. its great.

leaves yellow in my guides though.

you wanna talk about a braid that does not need to be broken in and has no teflon or waxy coating , you have to talk about Triple Fishes Bully Braid , to bad they don't make it any more (tho can be had on the internet )  ;)

I want the price to go down.

I've spooled up 3 reels this season with samarui and have not been disappointed.

Thanks guys, I think I'll try the suffix performance. Good price for what ya get. I liked the tackle tour review, and I think the suffix suits me better. Going to try the 50 lb., wish they could do something with the line color issue. I hate cleaning guides and etc any more often than I have to.

Power Pro is the best!!!

they used to be , but Izorline spectra and Tuf line xp are just as good if not better . Tuf line is the documented strongest braid out on the market  ;)

1. Daiwa Samurai

2. Stren's Superbraid if you can still get it

3. Suffix

4. Powerpro, unless its the one with higher braid count, then its up to 3.
