i like green pumblinseed with a crawdad color trailer for most conditions but a junebug jig with matching trailer is sometimes a lethal combination for stained or muddy waters such as the three rivers in Pittsburgh

Mine seems to be anything brownish with either a green pumpkin, brown or even black trailer.

Honestly,i don't think it matters too much.Every jig and color i have seem to catch aleast something.

In No Particular order

1. Black/blue

2. Black

3. Watermelonred or Greenpumpkinred (either one works for me)

4. Greenpumpkin

5. Brown, brown/green or any brown/black/green combination.

For trailers I use plastic 99% of the time, and I match the color of the trailer to the color of the Jig. Although sometimes I'll make a black/blue color out of a black jig by using a black/blue trailer on a black jig. Or a greenpumpkin trailer on a brown jig etc.

If I'm fishing deep or  stained water I will use black/blue.  Otherwise I like to keep with natural colors.  Having too many colored baits gives me way too many options, I would drive myself crazy deciding on which one!

My choices vary but my two of my most common colors are "Curt's Craw" and "Dirt Nap" from Dirtyjigstackle

They're both variations of craw colors but I've never seen anything else like them.

black/blue.

good thing we don't all fish the same lake.

Yeah, but....on any given lake you can count on 90% of the jigs being thrown to be your favorite color. Black and Blue is big everywhere you go.

What I can't figure out about jig color is I always hear brown/orange come up, but I have NEVER been able get a bite on that, and I'm talking 20+ years of never.  Every time the fish I do get, blow parts in the livewell there is always orange present yet I can never get 'em with orange involved.  Also, can't fish red, gators(Pike) seem to love red and I hate gators.

Karu's Special Brown and Extreme Bluegill are great during the spawn!

They match the Bass's #1 enemy and want stay on a bed longer than a second till they're eat!

I have the pumpkin colors but never do any good with them. I had some white ones one time and would've sworn I'd kill the fish..might of caught one total??
