BPS Pro Qualifier Spinning Reel

I've been eying a new spinning reel, as mine crapped out the other day.  Is the new Pro Qualifier any good?  It seems so, from the description.  Aluminum frame and eight bearings.  Also, to save a little money, how's the Extreme?  It also sports an aluminum frame.  Any other suggestions in this price range would be appreciated also.  Thanks.

be a little more specific !!! what size are you looking at ( 500,750,1000,2500,etc...) ?, what are you gonna do with it ?, what size and type of line are you gonna use ? all these things need be answered less somebody recommend a 7000 size saltwater spinning reel or a 500 size micro reel or ANYTHING IN BETWEEN !!!!

  Bass Pro changes who manufactures there reels every few years. It's been my experience that even though the BPS pro qualifier spinning reels are usually pretty good, eventually anything with moving parts needs some service. After a couple years it's TOUGH to get them worked on and replacement parts MAY be difficult to get. This has only been MY personal  experiences with them. I don't buy them anymore.

Since this is BassResource.com, I'm going to recommend something in the 2500 size.  The BPS Store brand reels are most economically bought in a combo.  If you're looking for a solid, inexpensive reel, look at the Shimano Sahara.

I understand that the Pro Qualifier (at least this model) probably won't be made anymore 5 years from now.  I probably will sell this one and get a better one by then.  I just need a good reel to last me 2 or 3 years of fishing.  It seemed like one of the only reels at this range that featured an aluminum frame.  All others are carbon or polymer.  Not the best material for a reel.   Also, the Pflueger President, along with the Mitchell 300XGe,  aren't aluminum, but would they be as good, or even better?

Trust me and Dodgeguy on this one, the Pflueger President or Supreme are superior reels to the PQ. I'm not saying BPS reels are junk, but in this situation Pflueger wins. Do the research and read the reviews. For what it's worth, I own a Pflueger Trion spinning reel ($39.99) that's going on it's fourth year of service without a single problem. I also own a Supreme, which is a killer for $99.99.

You will be happy with the Flooger or Dodgeguy will give you double your money back.......

I am a fan of Pro Qualifier baitcast reels, but I'm with Bilgerat and Dodgeguy on spinning reels. The President is a fine reel for $60.
