littlefisher Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 So, after seeing everyone and their brother walk around with Skeet Reese rods at the Expo, I have to ask. How good are they? I bought one just to buy it (and for the free jersey ), but I live in central Michigan and can't really try it out for a few months . So I'm just curious has anyone that lives farther south strapped a reel on one and actually tried it out? As a poor college kid I can respect the life time warranty and the price point of the rods, but I don't always like to sacrifice quality if I can afford not to. So, what does everyone think of them? Super User ww2farmer Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 So your a "poor college kid" as you put it, but your buying rods "just to buy them" and for free shirts? Then ask what people think of the rod? Yeah..............that seems like a rational way to buy a rod on a "poor college kid" budget : Quote
littlefisher Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 Haha yea I get it...I guess I just like to try a lot of different rods. And I allotted so much money to spend at the Classic and it fell within my limit. But back to the point, has anyone go to try one out yet? Quote
GatorNation Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Haha, I actually went and bought one today...the 7'2'' Jig/Worm rod and gave it a test run today...I paired it up with my Citica and it felt great. I stayed out for about 2 hours in 50 degree weather with gusts that were knocking my hat off my head. I wanted to see how well it would hold up casting into the wind, and it performed beyond my expectations (both reel and rod). Can't wait to get out there when the conditions are better. Quote
littlefisher Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 Well that's good news! I picked up the worm/spinnerbait rod so I can't wait to give it a try. If I like it I will probably get a couple cranking and flipping ones before the season starts. Am I the only one who really likes his rods to all match? Quote
mctech Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 hey little fisher dont worry what others think. if you like the rod and it works good for you thats all that counts.its your money spend it how you want.i myself have the crankbait stick and i really like it. Quote
justinl8688 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I got the S-Glass crankin version for Christmas.. I live in PA so haven't had a chance to try it out yet but paired with my Revo S it feel great Quote
littlefisher Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 Thanks mctech, usually if I like it I don't care, I just haven't had a chance to even hold it yet besides right before I bought it. I was just looking for opinions on how it felt/cast, etc. Thanks to everyone who posted. Quote

fishinfanatic Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I have the jig/worm rod and the spinnerbait/worm rod. I really like the jig/worm rod but I'm still a little iffy on the spinnerbait rod its a little flimsy. Quote
mwbrown Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 i have the spinnerbait/worm rod and the crankbait rod. I love them both. definitely worth checking out. Quote
littlefisher Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 I have the jig/worm rod and the spinnerbait/worm rod. I really like the jig/worm rod but I'm still a little iffy on the spinnerbait rod its a little flimsy. I got the spinnerbait/worm rod and I am now wondering about it. The tip seems really fast for any kind of worm fishing, I might use it for smaller spinnerbaits and maybe finese worms/jigs. Quote

For this very reason I bought the same rod, but for lipless cranks/shallow or med cranks. Quote

I bet someone has already touched on it, but when i was looking into getting one i didnt like them one bit. They reminded me of my old ugly stick too whippy. They also were alot heavier than other rods in that price range such as the Quantum Alliance and the Vendetta. Quote
