frogtog Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Which swim bait do you think works the best? Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 25, 2008 Super User Posted January 25, 2008 It depends on how you want to use it. I love the Mattlures Bluegill during the Bass and Bluegill spawns. It also works great worked like a jig on the bottom. I'll be using the tube swimbaits for schooling fish this year and a couple of hard swimbaits for when the fish are feeding up. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I don't use the fancy type swim baits, but have tried the soft replaceable Lake Fork Live Magic Shads, and they are KILLER! They are an exact copy of the Imakatsu Javellon (Spelling?). They smell so strongly of garlic, your fingers will reek of it for hours. If I go out with a two packs of these shads (4 per pack) I will not come home with a single one, they get torn to shreds. You should get 2-3 fish per bait, more if you use some glue... Quote
KYbass1276 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I use storm and clacutta swimbaits. They work great for me. No need to buy them high dollar swimbaits when these work just as good. Plus I'm cheap. Quote
HomersTomaco Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 buy some basstrix on ebay and you'll never want a copy Quote
rboat Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Avalon, How are you rigging those Lake Fork Magic Shads? Just curious. Quote
frogtog Posted January 26, 2008 Author Posted January 26, 2008 Some that I looked at on the web are Hugh, I'm thinking they will ware you out in no time. : Quote
DaHorns Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I just recently picked up a couple packs of Luck-E-Strike Magic Bass swim baits. I got them in the 4.5", but wish I would have seen the 5.5 or 6.5". They have a good price and look great in the water, only drawback is they have a STRONG smell of plastic, I have tried to douse them with garlic with a little success. They are a tube instead of solid so a flutter hook works real well with them. Quote
