instead of looking at the guide select from Okuma , get the EVX-A from okuma . that is the best rod out of all the ones you listed . this from ***-

The Okuma EVX-A Casting Rods provide anglers with the precision of a technique specific rod without the big price tag. Each rod's action and taper are adjusted to perfectly match their specific application, providing the angler with the best possible rod for their given fishing pursuit. The rod blanks are constructed from lightweight IM-8 graphite, which is roughly 45 million modulus for added responsiveness, increased power and reduced weight.

Even strong enough to stand up to braided lines, the ALPS stainless steel Guide Frames with Zirchonium Inserts further ensure strength and durability are maintained. Firmly securing your casting reel, the Fuji ACS Trigger Reel Seat, paired with the split grip handle design, helps with weight reduction as well. Only premium cork is used for the grips, ensuring quality comfort and a classic appeal. The Okuma EVX-A Casting Rods provide every angler with the affordable opportunity to own a quality technique-specific rod.

Backed by Okuma's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

and they are only $90.00  ;)

Until now I have been a confirmed Shimano Compre fan. Great rods and I love the two I have. But that Okuma has really got my eye now. I'm considering one of those for my next rod purchase. Looks like according to features and warranty, it would compare to the Shimano in every way. What's important to me is the absense of a foregrip. The way I hold a rod, this will help me feel what is going on with my bait more since I am able to touch the blank with 2 fingers.

Hard to go wrong with a Vendetta but The Castaway XP3's and standards are also nice.  Falcon is always a good choice but I've really heard good things about the Okuma Guide selects.  The St Croix Mojo's are liked by some and as for the Shimano Compre,  hey, it's a Shimano.  Hope that helps narrow it down some.

I have used Compre and recently bought a Vendetta. The Vendetta is very light weight and balanced, but the grips don't feel solid. Vendetta is 20 bucks cheaper, and I think it's a great value rod.

;D ::) You know what they say don't you? Everybody likes a little ar$$, but no one likes a wisear$$. ;):D Unfortunately given my reel experience, I'd have to give a similar answer. :) :)

I have 2 Compre spinning rods, and they are great rods. I had the Bucoo MH BC rod and liked it, but traded it for one of the Compres. I can't comment on the rest.

6 different rods is about as narrow as an elephants butt.
