The Premier is still made in the US. The Triumph (which used to be made in China) and the Mojo are built in Mexico.

Avid was nice, but I wasn't fond of the handle (power hump). I do like the shimano crucials though, you can find them around $150

thanks guys! thats great to hear about the st croix! i was dissapointed when i thaught i read that all are made in mexico now.

so far i really like the

castaway

st croix

and a couple others

for the castaway, what is the difference in the hg40 series, skeleton series, standard series and the xp3 series?

for just fishing pods where i will use every type of bait from frogs, crankbaits or worms, what would be the best?

thanks!

GOD BLESS

check out denali custom rods at denali.com they have two lines. jadewood and rosewood these are very nice rods at a very good price i got to fish one a couple weeks ago and was so impressed i have two on order and will be buying more as money allows

St. Croix Avid would be my pick.  They are a terrific rod and the best value of any rod I've owned in that price range.

X2 I also have the mojo, and they are both great just 5yr warranty compare to lifetime. The mojo is a lil heavier but still has st. croix service! 8-)

No Shimano Crucial rod? All of them are good rods, but Crucials are phenomenal rods, not be over looked since they are not that popular.
