2cents Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Would these be alright to set up a light spinning and heavy baitcast worm rod combo with? Any feedback would be great thanks. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted March 6, 2010 Super User Posted March 6, 2010 I have a couple of the older TT rods that I got from Cabelas back in the early '90's. They performed fine for me. Quote
The Rooster Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Well I've never handled one but I think the spinning rods would be OK. Their baitcast MH rods however have a MF rating. I prefer F or XF for worm rods. But they are buy one, get one free right now too so that's a pretty good price. Makes them cheaper than the lesser Pro Guide model. Quote
2cents Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 So the monkey made me go get a couple rods this morning. Here is what I bought and am thinking. 1) Tourney Trail Spin Cast 6ft Medium/Fast 6-12lb test 1/4-5/8oz Thinking I could use this for lighter no cover split shotting, drop shoting, shakey head, and texas rigging. 2)Tourney Trail casting 6ft6 MH/MF 8-17lb test 1/4-1 oz Thinking I can use this for carolina rigs, deep drop shot, and texas rigging in heavy cover. I don't have a cranking rod and was wondering if I could also throw some crankbaits with this one also. What do you guys think. Any feedback would be great. Thanks Quote
shootermcbob Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 2cents, I have the 6 1/2 ft. casting rod you mentioned. Although you can use it for any type fishing, it would probably be better served to throw lighter cranks on. the moderate fast action would make soft plastic fishing tougher, but not impossible. For the 30 bucks you spent on them, I think you got a good deal. I also have the spinning rod that you have, but in the 6 1/2 ft length. For thirty bucks, very hard to beat these rods. Mine are 4 years old now and still going strong. Quote
