The Rooster Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 What does multi-modulus mean in terms of rod blank construction?? I read this and think it's a mix of different grade graphites, such as IM-6, IM-7, and IM-8 all rolled into one blank. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted March 6, 2010 Super User Posted March 6, 2010 that is it exactly . my swim bait rods (rainshadow blanks ) are made of rx6 ( im-6 graphite), rx7 (im-7 graphite)and glass materials . that is to get the actions you want in a rod , by using different materials in different parts of the rod you combine aspects of each material to what would perform best . for example , alot of crankbait rods are made of graphite from the bottom of the blank to about 2/3 of the rod then glass is used for the top 1/3 for the soft action of glass . hope that helps Quote
