Skeet22 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I won two of these rods at a tourney last weekend at TB. I have never fished a Kistler rod before but I can tell you for the price these rods seem to be very well manufactured and very light. The grip is quite unique as it is half cork and half Eva foam. Never seen this before but it looks interesting. I will give the rods a test Sat morning but from the looks and feel of these rods I may be a converted Kistler man. Quote

kbkindle Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 i bought on this winter, a bait casting rod. have not been able to use it yet. kistler had them on sale in the winter for $99.00. i do like the way it feels with out any cork on forgrip, just have your hand on the rod its self. Quote
backpain... Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I personally have 4 Carbon steel rods I purchased through a January promotion where I got $40 off each one. I can't wait to get them on the water! My brother converted me to a Kistler man over the past few years. I could not believe the sensitivity every time he would let me borrow one of his rods. I finally got one for myself last summer, and now I own 6 of them. I had to use the warranty once, and it was fairly painless. Ended up with a brand new next years model rod. Quote
tradequities Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 kistler rods are fantastic.. had to use the warranty 3 times.. all 3 times were my fault.. all 3 experiences were hassle free.. i just emailed them explaining the situation and they gave me a great pro-rated discount.. also i once sent a rod in to get a guide fixed (stepped on it)... the rod tube arrived at their factory in half... also snapping the rod... Trey personally sent me an email stating the situation and gave me a brand new rod on the house... they have fantastic customer service and great performing/looking rods.. i havent used much of their lower end rods like the carbon steel or graphite special.. but everything from magnesium to helium 2 are spectacular Quote
