airborne_angler Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I have one like it that I fished out of the bottom of a lake. Ive disassembled, cleaned, lubed and reassembled it and it works great. Anyone know the gear ratio on one of these. Any other info is appreciated. http://cgi.ebay.com/ABU-GARCIA-AMBASSADAUR-LITE-MAX-ULTRA-CAST-BALL-BEARING_W0QQitemZ370312153902QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5638530b2e#ht_500wt_965 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted March 3, 2010 Super User Posted March 3, 2010 I can't remember the specs on that reel. All you'll find on Abu's site is a schematic. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted March 3, 2010 Super User Posted March 3, 2010 Probably 5.something to 1. Around 24" per turn. that's what most of those reels of that era were. Quote
Boogey Man Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I had one like that only it was black. It had 2 bearings, 5.? to 1 gear ratio, magnetic braking, no instant anti reverse, graphite frame. Not sure about the weight but I'm pretty sure it was under 8oz. The one I had cost $35 new when I bought it in '94 or '95. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted March 4, 2010 Super User Posted March 4, 2010 sorry , but that is one of the ugliest reels i have ever seen i would of tossed it back in the lake ;D ;D ;D Quote
