I asked awhile back about saltwater and freshwater reels,forgot to aks about the rods.Will saltwater ruin my rods.Is washing them off after enough?

If you don't wash them off, you might as well send them to me now...

Like anything, if you take care of it you'll be fine.  Generally hosing it down really thoroughly should do you.  If you're worried about it, a mild soap should do just fine.  Just make sure you rinse it completely off.

I seldom rinse the rods down.  If you are using a cheap rod the guides will corrode, but not on a decent rod.

Rinse never soak and use pledge  on blanks to keep them looking new.

Rinse.

Wash quickly with handsoap.

Rinse.

DRY WELL. On some (especially expensive rods), water drops will leave ugly water marks thats are super hard to remove.
